Our Story

Norma & Les began in a Trinidadian kitchen - the kind where recipes weren’t written down, they were passed hand to hand, taste to taste, generation to generation. Long before there was a bottle, a can, or a label, there was Norma; a mother whose cooking turned simple things to share with a household that became a gathering place for anyone visiting or invited to the table.

Her son, Chef Les, grew up in that kitchen. Seven years of a food truck, a restaurant in Detroit’s Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood, and countless hours perfecting the balance of sorrel (hibiscus), citrus, spices and spirits eventually became something bigger - a mission to bring authentic Caribbean flavor to every home, poured straight from the bottle or the can. Every recipe carries the family’s hand in it. Every flavor is built on Les' years standing over a stove, refusing to cut corners on culture.

Today, that mission is carried forward by two people. Jacquelyn joined Les as co-founder, adding her operational strengths to his and a business discipline to match his culinary vision - building the systems, partnerships, and growth strategy that let Norma & Les show up on more shelves without ever losing the heart it started with. Together, they’ve built a company proud to be West Indian - owned / woman - owned, but prouder still of what’s actually in the bottle; real Caribbean flavor, made the way family made it.
